Traditional Medicine

“The term Alternative Medicine means any form of medicine that is outside the mainstream western or orthodox medicine, also known as Allopathic Medicine as practiced by the majority of doctors today. Alternative Medicine exists in all cultures to some degree and terms such as Complimentary Medicine, Holistic Medicine, Traditional Medicine, Indigenous Medicine or Folk Medicine etc are used to describe such practices.

In 1973 the Medical Faculty of the University of Rome convened the first World Congress of Alternative Medicines and the provisional program contained no less than 135 different therapies. The experts of W.H.O. have also identified and enlisted more than 100 types of practices.

Alternative Medicines are in fact an approach to health and well-being. Being Holistic in nature, it represents the sum total of measures, ingredients, customs and creative procedures of several forms, both material and spiritual which since pre-historic times have enabled man to remain healthy by protecting himself against disease, alleviating human suffering and curing disorders.

In contrast, orthodox medicine’s sole pre-occupation is with the mechanical side of the body to the almost exclusion of other considerations. The Holistic approach regards life as a total synthesis of body, mind and spirit and in accordance with this conviction, positive health is regarded as the blending of the physical, mental, social, moral and spiritual well-being. A unique feature of the alternative approach is that the patient is made conscious and aware of his/her own health during the process of recovery and becomes his /her own physician.

The reason for the upsurge of interest in Alternative Medicines are manifold. Simplicity of the practices, avoidance of the intake of potent and hard drugs, unnecessary diagnostic and surgical interferences, lack of side effects, the cost effectiveness and accessibility of the treatments and remedies are but some of these factors.

It is not our intention to underestimate or devalue the contribution of orthodox medicine. The dynamic science of allopathy has indeed done much in eradicating infectious illness of childhood and adulthood and providing cures and relief to ailing and suffering humanity worldwide. Orthodox medicine has its place and none of the Alternatives can answer all of the world’s health problems on its own.

A few decades ago, it was generally assumed by the scientific community that medicinal plants, Homoeopathic doses, Acupuncture needles, Yoga etc could be safely relegated to know more than a footnote of medical history. But this assumption has indeed turned out to be a very premature one. During the past two decades, the upsurge in Herbology, Homoeopathy, Acupuncture, Yoga etc, in every country has been phenomenal.

Alternative Medicines are here to stay and need to be integrated with allopathic medicines sooner rather than later. This renewed interest has generated an international awareness on the richness and importance of the subject, a development which represents the rebirth of the medicine of the past and one which may help to humanize the medicine of tomorrow” – Dr. S. 28 Day Weight Loss Program

Please consult your Doctor: to ensure you are fit enough and well enough to follow this program.

Once you have completed the initial month, it is then up to you what you choose to slowly re-introduce into your diet.

Please remember: processed and/or cooked foods can create some fluid retention, as can toxins, so when you re-introduce other foods back into your daily diet don’t be surprised if the scales increase a little. Meat will also remain in your digestive tract for much longer which will also affect the reading on the scales. The trick is to get the balance and keep the majority of your food as High Vibrational. You need to enjoy your food so be creative, however, you may also need to deal with any issues in your life that encourages you to comfort eat. Comfort eating is a contributor to obesity. We should be eating to live NOT living to eat. If your life has you eating your way through it……get some counselling BEFORE it is too late.

Note: Depending on your current diet, when you commence the 28 Day Weight Loss Program, you may experience loose stools for a couple of days or so, this will settle down, it is simply your bodies way of ‘clearing out’ and also adjusting to its new healthier eating!

Optional: Depending how un-healthy your diet has been, you may want to take a herbal laxative for the first 1 – 2 days. THIS IS NOT FOR WEIGHT LOSS, this is simply to help your body move sluggish bowels from poor eating habits. Do NOT abuse laxatives, they strip your body of its vital nutrients before they have had time to be absorbed.

Scales: Scales can vary, so don’t judge all your achievement purely through the scales. If you have a very sedentary lifestyle prior to this program, you will probably experience less movement on the scales than someone who is relatively fit. Why? Because if you don’t normally exercise, then any exercise you do, will help to build up muscles which you need! So you may lose a Kilo of fat and fluid but also increase your muscle, muscle weighs heavier than fat. Once you have managed the first seven days, any muscle growth will probably slow down. SO DON’T BE DISCOURAGED, YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THE WHOLE PICTURE AND SEE THE END RESULTS.

Core Principle: This program is about dropping weight quickly, healthily, safely and WITHOUT starving or flogging yourself. It is a program that you can return to time and time again. It does require self-discipline, self-restraint, motivation, determination and drive.

Maintenance: For maintenance, you could always opt for one strict week ie: all High Vibrational Meals and the next week you may choose to have something from the Medium or Low Vibrational List for one of your meals each day. Play around with it until you find what works as a maintenance plan for YOU. We are all different, I personally know that if I eat something that is not on the High Vibrational list, depending on what it is I have eaten, my weight can be up the next morning as much as 1.5 Kg. But I am also aware that this is not an increase in fat. Things such as sugar, salt, meat, breads, other heavily processed foods including pasta and rice will naturally weigh heavier anyway and will more than likely encourage your body to hold onto fluid in order to dilute what it perceives as toxins, or poisons etc. When this happens, I have personally found that it can take a whole three days of being on purely High Vibrational Foods before the weight returns to what it was.

This isn’t because one meal puts on fat, it is because of the way in which your body is trying to manage it. DON’T GET DISCOURAGED, just play around with the maintenance until you find, not only what is right for you, but also until you have got to know your body and how it is reacting or responding with certain foods. Once you know the pattern of your body, it takes the worry out of eating and weight gain, that extra Kilo no longer discourages you because you will know yourself well enough to say ‘ah ha, that was that…………that I ate yesterday’ etc.

Do not abuse the 28 Day Weight Loss Program. Do not stuff yourself on unhealthy foods, or binge eat and then return to the program over and over, your body will find it a strain having to suddenly deal with so much unhealthy food. Use the Program appropriately in order to gain better control of your weight and your life. Use the Program to take control eg: if you know you are going out for dinner at the weekend and will be eating Low Vibrational Foods, perhaps ensure that the weekdays have been quite strict. That way, you can still enjoy your lifestyle without putting on the weight or over indulging.

Many people like to maintain their weight loss by continuing on with the HVE at a rate of 80/20 meaning 80% of each meal is HV and 20% is either Medium or Low Vibrational. Others use a 90/10 ratio. Once again, it is about finding what is right for you, read through the HVE lists to see what is Medium and Low Vibrational.

So what IS High Vibrational Eating? High Vibrational Eating (HVE) is a natural method of eating, one that our ancestors would have followed. HVE activates the body’s natural ability to heal itself through (preferably) organic, vegetarian, vegan foods that are consumed in their raw state. It avoids added sugars, salt, animal proteins, artificial additives, colorings, flavorings and processed foods. I say organic simply because they lack the chemical sprays that non-organic foods have been sprayed with, HOWEVER, I have been informed by a farmer that if their whole crop is at risk of destruction due to insects or other contamination, then they are permitted to treat their crop!! So how organic the organics are is questionable.

Organic foods are more expensive, so if you cannot afford them, simply wash your foods THOROUGHLY perhaps peel what you can to remove those parts that have been contaminated. Although this may not be perfect, it is far better than not following the HVE method at all. HVE takes a holistic approach to our body, working on a physical, mental, emotional AND spiritual level whilst activating your body’s immune system and cleansing toxic wastes naturally.

I do not recommend laxatives and/or suppositories or even enemas on a regular basis. You will discover that whilst on HVE foods, your body will NATURALLY cleanse itself and you will naturally be able to empty the bowels WITHOUT strain or discomfort.

HVE is not about curing ailments, it does not proclaim to ‘cure’ and /or ‘heal’, its focus is about bringing a natural balance, a homeostasis in body, mind and spirit where all parts of us return to a natural state, a balanced state, that in itself can bring health and wholeness. HVE will assist most degenerative disease as most degenerative disease is due to toxicity and nutritional deficiency.

HVE is designed to offer a simple approach to food and eating, offering a much higher amount of enzymes, mineral and other nutrients which not only feed and stimulate the body which can then break down disease more easily, but also feed the mind and raise your vibration. The cleaner your body becomes, the easier it will find it to resist infection and deal with disease. We keep our body full of toxins and wonder why it is unable to resist disease! Daily we subject our body to pollutants, some of which are carcinogens.

The HVE method or program is an intensive detoxification regime eliminating toxins naturally so that the body can start to repair itself. This does not mean that you can and should stop taking prescribed medications, you should always consult your Dr.

HVE is NOT an overnight cure!! You would have spent many years creating a toxic body and although the de-toxification process will start straight away, it may take many months to fully detox and have a fully regenerated body. This does not mean that you will not see some instant results, most people do.

Most people notice some results in the first 2 – 4 weeks, some of the more instant results that people have found are:

These are just some of the effects you may also experience within the first 2 – 4 weeks, for some it may be sooner, for others it may take a little longer, we are all different and our bodies will respond differently in different time scales. The thing to remember is to allow your body to respond to the changes that you are going through, without rushing it and placing un-realistic expectations on it. For me, one of the major changes (other than weight loss) was in my knee. I had a knee condition for over 30 years that was always more prominent during wet weather, during my first month, I cannot even tell you when the problem disappeared, it just vanished and has never returned.

HVE regenerates the body, restoring it back to optimal health by feeding it the nutrients that it needs, not the foods YOU necessarily desire! There is quite often a difference between what we WANT and what our body NEEDS, our wants can encourage us to live to eat, where as our needs encourage us to eat to live!

Whilst on HVE, you will not be eating cooked or processed foods!! YEP it is a sacrifice in today’s world of food where gluttony and over-sized portions and foods saturated with either fats or sugars are the ‘norm’. I would say the norm for a guaranteed dis-functional body! We have, over our life time been encouraged to use our senses to appreciate physical food only, as opposed to spiritual food, we see it, smell it and want it, so the more food producers can entice you through your senses, the more they have you, hook, line and sinker! When we eat simply for pleasure, we require so much more self-discipline to change our eating habits. So if you don’t eat to live, you may need to look at your relationship with food and what purpose it serves for you, for many, food is a comfort, it gives us what we feel we are lacking in other areas of our lives.

HVE is made up of salads, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds all of which are fresh and raw. You can juice them or eat them. You are not limited to how much you eat, but you do need to ensure you aren’t sticking with one type of food such as nuts. It would be easy for someone whom ‘thinks’ they aren’t into salads to live off plenty of nuts, that is NOT ok, WE NEED BALANCE. It is from enjoying a variety of HV foods that we will take in the necessary enzymes, minerals etc that we need to maintain a healthy body. Another aspect to a healthy body is:

Exercise: We all need exercise, this Program does not support extreme exercise. It is designed for the average person who does not have access to the Gym or other exercise equipment. We are only looking at 40 minutes DAILY! (6 x Per Week) of brisk exercise ie: walking, and it needs to be brisk. If you are really un-fit, or you have health problems, you may want to split this into two 20 minute walks. The walks are NOT about burning off calories, they are about getting you moving and encouraging your body to work more efficiently. I know it’s not nice if the weather is wet, cold or windy, but just wrap up and don’t think about it, just DO IT. If you have access to a tread mill or stationary bike use that if you prefer, but outside is better as you also get the benefit of fresh air and being in nature. The exercise doesn’t have to be walking, you may opt for cycling or swimming, the aim is to do it briskly and get the blood pumping around.

5 minutes DAILY!(5 x Per Week) of Planking! (Plank Exercises Shown Below) It can be broken up throughout the day if necessary, into minutes. The idea of Planking is to strengthen your core muscles, which in turn will help your walking etc, it will also help to burn off fat as they are short bursts of intense exercise.

These are excellent exercises to strengthen your back muscles. Just follow the chart below, you may want to consider starting the Planking PRIOR to starting the 28 Day Program, depending on your level of fitness and strength, you may need a month to build up to the 1 minute holds. You simply hold in the positions shown for the time shown.

So In A Nutshell: The 28 Day Weight Loss Program consists of raw salads, vegetables, fruits and nuts (if you can’t eat it raw, don’t eat it).

  • Nothing cooked or steamed
  • Nothing processed so no oils, butters, cheese, meat products, fish products, eggs etc NOTHING!
  • Organic if you can but it isn’t essential to the weight loss.
  • Raw nuts and seeds, which means NO salted or honey coated nuts and only 1 x handful per day.
  • Nuts straight from the shells are even better.
  • Ensure foods are adequately washed.
  • Fresh Lemon Juice for dressing, NO salad cream, mayonnaise, dressings, oils, vinegar etc NOTHING!
  • Fruit – Fresh fruit ONLY! No dried fruit (unless it has been sun-dried WITHOUT oil or other additives) and only 4 pieces per day.


Don’t forget, this 28 Day Weight Loss Program is for MAXIMUM WEIGHT LOSS.


  • Black Coffee – NO milk or sugar or substitutes, if you can go without the coffee, GREAT! No more than 3 x per day! OR
  • Herbal Tea / Tea – The same with tea, nothing added, NOT even honey and no more than 3 x per day!
  • Water – Where possible, drink Spring Water or at least filtered water.
  • Alcohol – THIS IS AN ALCOHOL FREE MONTH !!!!!!!!


After the first month you can start to slowly add other foods back into your diet.

A: We are all different and we all consume different types of foods, different amounts of foods, we all get different levels of exercise and it is all relevant. I lost 5 Kg’s in the first week alone. Over the course of the month, I dropped two dress sizes! and I wasn’t even doing the Program for weight loss!

Q: Isn’t that too much to loose in such a short time?

A: If you are eating and drinking plenty of healthy foods, why would we consider it too much? It will slow down, the whole idea is to loose excess weight quickly and safely WITHOUT starving or excessive exercise.  If you find you have lost all the excess weight you need to loose prior to the completion of the 28 Days, you can then begin to add other foods into your diet. You may wish to increase the nuts and seeds or, if you don’t want to stay on just High Vibrational Foods, you can slowly start to add other foods. The key is balance.

Transforming the Mind – is something that the majority of us would like to do. Some manage it on their own, some need a little guidance, at Indigenous Gifts – you can find that guidance; we look at Embracing the Wolves through Jungian Analytical Psychology to help us to learn about our mind, how it works and the hidden treasures of the unconscious.

When we are willing to face all aspects of ourselves, we are then ready to face the shadow sideThe Wolves – then, and only then, will we be ready to start Embracing the Wolves, permitting them a voice, in order for us to learn the lessons they hold for us individually; it is only through embracing the wolves that we can transform our negative aspects and sometimes our unrealized positive aspects into life changing lessons. It is through the transformation, adaptation of our minds that we will be able to fully integrate our true Self and partake of a Christ Consciousness or Higher Consciousness.

Transforming the Mind takes time, it takes courage, it takes trust and strength, and most importantly, it still requires us to place our trust and faith in God, in The Divine, in the very Source that created such a complexity within us.

Transforming the Mind is a journey, but it is a journey which has been set out before us, at the beginning of the journey we learn a little about Jungian Psychology and how it can impact our life in a positive way. We learn a little terminology in order to help us to grasp the meanings of what will be, for many, new words. From there, we charter our way through personality in order to get a broader understanding of ourselves and others which will give us a firm foundation on which to build. From that pit stop, we journey into the Psyche, otherwise known as the conscious and unconscious mind; through delving a little deeper into this aspect of our journey, we come to realize where God is within us. From there, we look at Intuition and Synchronicity (which is not co-incidence) and how they inform our world, or at-least how they would if we were recognizing them and listening to them.

Once those initial steps are complete, we will then be ready to re-visit the mind, the Psyche on a deeper level, enlarging our understanding and assisting us to REALLY comprehend the UNLIMITED DIVINE POTENTIAL that lays within, often dormant, like hidden treasure that has not yet been found.

The second part of the journey teaches us how our Psyche can inform us on the hidden aspects of our being, how it can reveal our wolves, how it can educate us in regards to our feelings, attitudes, hurts etc the shadow side; the side that many of us would rather pretend we didn’t have. It takes us through a psychological comprehension of how our Psyche is working for us or against us. This is a journey through the use of stories, myths, dreams, symbols and archetypes, both personal and universal; not unlike how much of the Bible passes on its message.

The ultimate purpose for change and transformation is to become more like Christ, to have a Christ Consciousness or to develop our Higher Consciousness and we cannot become more conscious if we do not set out on a journey of self-exploration, transformation and change.

Acupuncture is the ancient Chinese art of healing, it has become popular the world over. Not only as an anaesthetic agent for surgical operations, but also it has proved remarkably effective in many diseases which are resistant to conventional forms of therapy. Besides being free from the side effects commonly encountered in drug therapy it is a simple safe effective and economical form of therapy. Therefore, slowly but surely, acupuncture is being integrated into the mainstream of modern medicine.   It is regarded that during Acupuncture, six effects are produced by the needling of specific points or areas, they are:

  • Analgesic
  • Sedation
  • Homeostatic or Regulation
  • Immune-Enhancing
  • Anti-Inflammatory
  • Quickening of Motor Recovery

Acupoint and Aucpressure are also known to be effective forms of treatment and therefore, are a good consideration for those who do not like the idea of being needled.



Electro-acupuncture is similar to traditional acupuncture in that the same points are stimulated during treatment;  as with traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted on specific points along the body. The needles are then attached to a device that generates continuous electrical pulses using small clips. These devices are used to adjust the frequency and intensity of the impulse being delivered depending on the condition being treated. Electro-acupuncture uses two needles at a time so that the impulses can pass from one needle to the other. Several pairs of needles can be stimulated simultaneously.


Osteopathy is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue functioning smoothly together. Osteopathy is a system of healing based on the theory that many diseases are associated with disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Diagnosis and treatment of these disorders involve palpation, manipulation and massage. Using body massage and bone manipulation techniques this Therapy is used to treat a variety of aches and pains including, but not limited too:

  • Backache, including Lumbago and Sciatica
  • Knee and Elbow pain
  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Cervical Spondylosis
  • Headaches and Migraines just to mention a few.

Osteopathy has become a sought after treatment, it can be used as a stand alone treatment, or it can be combined and gently blended with your usual massage therapy.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which cups are placed on the skin to create suction. The cups can be made of a variety of materials, including:

  • Glass
  • Bamboo
  • Plastic
  • Earthenware


Cupping therapy dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. One of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, the Ebers Papyrus, describes how the ancient Egyptians were using cupping therapy in 1,550 B.C.

In cupping therapy it is believed the suction of the cups mobilizes blood flow to promote the healing of a broad range of medical ailments including:

Cupping Therapy can also involve Cupping Massage where oil is applied to the skin prior to the cups being placed. Once the suction has been activated, the cups are then gently moved across the skin, drawing blood circulation to the surface.

Aromatherapy is exactly what it says, ‘Aroma’ – Therapy, it is by the inhalation of quality essential oils mixed in quality base oils, and through the absorption process via the skin, that you are able to receive extra benefits with your massage. Essential oils have been around for thousands of years to assist in the healing of the body, mind and spirit. They are safe and effective to use when used appropriately and can make a significant difference to any massage. The oils I use will be selected during your consultation or prior to the massage and used to increase the effectiveness of your massage and your experience. To further your experience you may want to add 30 minutes of Healing onto your session.

Yoga Therapy

Yoga Practice has been around for thousands of years, it has proven its benefits over and over. Yoga Therapy is taking that same Yoga, some of the same Asanas and Pranayamas and integrating them into your current treatment plan.   Yoga is affective for many conditions including, but not limited to:

  • Stress & Anxiety
  • General Aches & Pains
  • Backpain
  • Arthritis
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Migraine
  • Insomnia
  • Depression
  • Restless Leg Syndrome to say a few

Yoga Therapy can be more effective than simply following a Yoga routine as the Asanas can be specifically adjusted to suite your current needs. Where as in traditional Yoga practice, you may have full routines to follow which may consist of 6 – 10 Asanas, in Yoga Therapy, you may have only two or three Asanas to complete perhaps 2 – 3 days per day. The idea of Yoga Therapy isn’t to give you the same benefits that Yoga Practice will give you, it is to give you what you need at that time in order to assist you on your road to recovery. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do Yoga Practice nor does it mean that you can’t participate in Yoga Practice in the future.




Types of Healing

Healing is as individual as we are as people, what works for one, may not work for another, for this reason, there are several different types of healing that you can receive based on your needs.

Absent / Distant & Remote Healing – offered to clients/patients when they are not able to travel due to distance, time constraints or ill health. They should be given no less time, effort, or compassion than if they were present. Absent / Distant  Healing is usually thought of in the sense of Reiki.

Pranic Healing – comes from the word ‘Prana’ meaning ‘breath’. It works primarily with your breath combined with visualizations and colours. It is gentle and relaxing and is a good accompaniment to other healing practices.

Mantric Healing – comes from the word ‘Mantra’ meaning ‘a word or words’ which have been put together to facilitate healing through sound and vibration. One of the more famous and renown Mantras is: OM – which is said to be a mystic syllable, and is considered to be the most sacred of Mantras. Mantric healing works on different levels and once again, is considered gentle and relaxing.

Reiki Healing – is a very gentle healing system, it requires very little input from you, it is more about you ‘being’ and the practitioner ‘doing’. It works gently on emotions, but can still work on a deeper level. This tends to be the less ‘scary’ option for people who perhaps have never had healing before, in Traditional Reiki, although different methods may be employed, the only tools used are the practitioners hands.

Spiritual Healing – is still relatively gentle, it is a good way to work on all aspects of your being, like Reiki, it requires minimal input from you, but you can benefit immensely from having input into your session. In Spiritual healing, although different methods may be employed, such as  the use of colour and visualizations etc, the only tools used are the practitioners hands.

Shamanic Healing – delves deep into the art of Shamanism, it isn’t always gentle, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be. It is a much deeper level of healing which works well on all levels. It can require input from you, but that too, is a choice. Shamanic healing works in and with your Luminous Energy Field (LEF) otherwise known as the Aura or Auric Field, it also works within your Chakra system. Shamanic healing employs many different methods including, but not limited to Journeying, Regression, Extraction, Visualization, Breaking of Ties, Aura and Chakra Cleansing and Balancing and Spiritual Counselling to mention just a few. Shamanic healing employs several tools of which the practitioner or Shaman will select based on what the issue at hand is. The main tools of the Shamanic practitioner or Shaman will include a rattle, drum, smudge stick, feathers, wands, staff and crystals to say the least. Shamanic healing, when executed by a professional Shaman, can bring about a more intense healing.

 Integrative Counselling

The term Integrative Counselling is used when several distinct models of counselling and psychotherapy are used together. There are many models of counselling some of which you may have heard of before or experienced, here are just a few:

  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
  • Gestalt Therapy
  • Neurolingistic Programming (NLP)
  • Client Centred Counselling or Person Centred Counselling
  • Humanistic Therapy
  • Psychosynthesis or Transpersonal Therapy
  • Transactional Analysis

Do not be put off by such labels of therapy, at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter which model of counselling is used, what matters is the outcome. As an Integrative Counsellor, I use different models of counselling because we are all different, we all have different needs, we all respond differently. What one would find helpful, another may not. It is for that reason that I use the model or models of counselling that I feel is best suited. That does not mean that I choose one model and stick with it, I use my instinct and what you tell me and show me to guide me throughout all counselling sessions.

Counselling is a natural process which guides itself. It is an inner journey for the individual of which I am both a spectator and a supporter as I accompany them on their journey. Counselling is a wonderful way to be able to feel safe and supported in order to look at your thoughts, your feelings, your life, your future or your past. Counselling can be exploratory, as you open yourself up to looking at the issues or concerns that are impinging on your life.

You are required to be open and honest to the counsellor, but more importantly, to yourself. Nothing is gained with denial, but much is gained through truth and acceptance and the realization that we are one, we all have things we need to accept in order to change. Change is the golden thread that runs through all therapy, without change, you accomplish nothing, change needs to be embraced not feared and accepted as a natural and positive part of life.

Counselling could be viewed as sowing a seed into your life, you pay attention to the seed, you feed it positivity and acceptance, you pull up the weeds and remove the stones and after awhile, you realize that the seed that you have sown, is now a huge Oak tree displaying all of its beauty and splendour.


Transpersonal Therapy

Transpersonal Therapy describes any form of Counselling or Therapy which places an emphasis on spirituality, the human potential or a heightened consciousness. It supports those on a spiritual path, offering support as the individual grasps inner truths about themselves, their life, their future and may be their past.

Transpersonal Therapy offers a safe environment for the individual and an opportunity to explore their deeper self via Psychosynthesis. By honouring the ‘higher self’ and recognizing the need to bring the whole person together as one through change and development, a sense of authenticity is reached which is deeply needed in order to help the individual seek a new, more spiritually oriented version of themselves.

Transpersonal Therapy takes a deeper look at the spiritual side of life, it explores the intangible, the sub-conscious, the unknown.


Shiatsu is a physical therapy that supports and strengthens the body’s natural ability to heal and balance itself. It works on the whole person – not just with the physical body, but also with the psychological, emotional and spiritual aspects of being. Shiatsu originated in Japan from traditional Chinese medicine, with influences from more recent Western therapies. The first syllable in Shiatsu, ‘shi’ means fingers and the second syllable ‘atsu’ means pressure. Therefore, Shiatsu means ‘to apply pressure on the body with the fingers’ but although shiatsu means ‘finger pressure’ in Japanese, in practice a practitioner uses touch, comfortable pressure and manipulative techniques to adjust the body’s physical structure and balance its energy flow. It is a deeply relaxing experience and regular treatments can alleviate stress and illness and maintain health and well-being hence why today, Shiatsu has become more prevalent all over the world. Shiatsu can be received as a treatment for specific ailments, it can either be incorporated into a massage or can be used as a stand a lone treatment. If Shiatsu is used as a complete treatment, the therapist will use a mixture of finger or feet pressure, as well as stretching and stimulation techniques. It is designed to ‘loosen up’ the stiff, un-healthy body, bringing about a greater sense of well-being.



Acupressure, like Shiatsu and Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years, it is an ancient healing art using the fingers to gradually press key healing points which stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities. Using the power and sensitivity of the hand, fingers or a special probe, Acupressure Therapy is effective in the relief of stress-related ailments, and is ideal for self-treatment and preventive health care. It is also good for boosting the immune system, acupressure releases tension, increases circulation, reduces pain, and develops spirituality and vibrant health. Acupressure works on the same principle as Acupuncture in that it uses the Meridians and Bio-Energetic points to bring about change, the main difference being it does not use needles.
