My Animal Soul Mate
No more suffering, no more pain,
My personal loss, but Heavens gain.
No more runs, to Thelbridge Cross,
No Urban Mushing, you are such a loss.
But welcomed home, by your friend Dukey-Boy,
Now you are free, again full of joy.
Free of pain, and free of disease,
Free to roam, and free to please.
I know you are happy, on loan from Heaven,
And this was your time, my sweet little Gretchen.
Angels Without Wings
This is my own personal journey into owning, training and living with an Assistance Dog or Service Dog as they are called in the U.S. My Assistance Dog is here as my support, the support she offers through her obedience and willingness to perform tasks is amazing and a blessing. Assistance Dogs are, (as are all dogs) Angels without Wings; they are always there for you, no matter how you feel and they are always ready to offer unconditional love.
Training a Dog is Like Training a Child It Needs Continuity and Perseverance.
None of us do what we are asked all the time and certainly not always when we are asked; Gretchen is a beautiful spirited dog, and like all other dogs and people, she has her own mind and personality, she is not a robot but a warm loving creature who is happy to respond to requests and happy learning new skills on a regular basis; we work towards The Assistance Dog International standards (ADI).
