Embracing Yin and Yang
When we come to that place where we can embrace the Yin and Yang of self, we know we have reached a place of acceptance. Not a place of complacency, but a place of acceptance that not all things can necessarily be healed or made whole in this life-time.
We come to realize that like Yin and Yang, our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours move in a harmonic convergence of fluidity. As we become more conscious of our own divinity, we embrace our journey to wholeness.
All feelings have opposing feelings, we can never be just happy, there will always be times throughout life when we are unhappy, or sad. There will be times when we are positive and times when we are negative, the negative aspect of our thoughts and feelings are not necessarily an issue, the issue arises when the negative aspect is out of balance. Therapy is not about removing or healing all what we believe as negative, it is about looking at what needs to be looked at, and keeping a harmonious balance within. This does not mean that we cannot work on ourself to improve ourself, it just means that at times feelings that we experiences as negative, such as sadness, will become apparent, and we will learn to accept it, name it, and let it go. It doesn’t mean it will disappear miraculously, but it does mean that through acceptance the unpleasant feelings can arise and dissipate, and they will no longer control us, or our behaviour.
Yin and Yang move forward and backwards like the ocean and the sand, roving together, in a synergistic dance of give and take, we must embrace the Yin and Yang of self.
The key here is balance.
