Neuroplasticity supports our ability to change our behaviours, overcome challenges, and develop new skills. Neuroplasticity requires altering the physical connections between neurons by reorganising synapses and creating new ones whilst disregarding unused ones.

The importance of neuroplasticity in regards to healing on different levels has, in the past, been very understated with common beliefs of old being that the brain stops growing after childhood, but more recent research shows that the brain continues to grow and evolve into adulthood which means that dysfunctional behaviour and ways of thinking can be changed and new mindsets can be adopted.

Repetitive listening to specific music or speech is said to re-wire the brain through neuroplasticity. It has been said that the sessions need to be structured and that the frequency, duration, and intensity are important. One source states that the sessions should be five days a week, with sessions lasting ten to fifteen minutes over a period of five to ten months or longer. For me personally, I felt I needed to do an intense course of neuroplasticity, my intuition and spiritual direction led me to an intense ten months, I am currently in my ninth month as I write this post and can say that I have experienced amazing results.

I used the Carl Jung recordings that spoke to me the most on psychotherapy and I have also used some recordings on quantum science in relation to healing. My healing lists are available on my YouTube channel and the links are also in the navigation bar above. I spent between eight and ten hours a day listening to the recordings, but that has not been just sitting and listening, I personally have found that going to sleep with the recordings playing all night has still had a significant impact. Whilst sleeping, our ears are still hearing and our brain is still being affected, but you don’t have what can be a disruptive flow of unrelated thoughts as you listen during the day, also, whilst sleeping, much like during hypnotherapy, your critical factors are sleeping, permitting the messages to be received into your subconscious with little disturbance or hindrance. I personally found that my sleep was not affected and so I suffered no sleep deprivation. It may take a few nights to get used to the recordings playing but I personally found that getting to sleep was quicker as I was listening as opposed to thinking. My waking hours still included several hours of listening which is not realistic for many due to work commitments and not necessarily necessary. I personally feel that if you can commit to two waking hours a day and make the most of night time listening then you will still benefit from neuroplasticity.

You are welcome to use my lists which are called “Healing the Self” and are in four parts but you may want to consider listening individually to the recordings to see if they are what you need, also, you may want to listen to some of the recordings that I have not used in my Healing the Self list but are still on my YouTube playlist. My recordings were selected specifically for myself as they spoke to me. The recordings explain what thought processes have been operating over the years, they explain the affect that societal and familial programming has had on us, and they focus on changing our thought patterns, our perception of things and our behaviours. Many of you will not want such a long list of recordings and I feel it is quite acceptable to listen to even just one recording over and over. We all heal differently, we all have different needs and different time scales, we all have different hopes in regards to outcomes and so it stands to reason that there is not just one fit for all. Go within, seek your own guidance, do what is right for you, not me, and not anyone else. Your healing journey is just that, your journey and it is important that you find your own way to Healing the Self. All that is left to say is I wish you all well on your individual healing journey.
