Extra Virgin Olive Oil

 

Olive oil is pressed from fresh olives and comes as a rich yellow oil which is said to be very healing and soothing for many skin conditions.

 

May Help With:

Psoriasis, Eczema, Dry Skin and Rheumatism

 

Possible Side Effects:

None known when used appropriately

 

Contra Indications:

None known when used appropriately

 

Methods of Use:

25ml – 50ml as a base oil for massage

 

(Fractionated) Coconut Oil

 

Coconut oil comes from the kernel, it is very moisturising and softening. Fractionated coconut oil does not smell of coconuts which makes it ideal as a base oil.

 

May Help With:

Dry Skin, Skin Infections,

 

Possible Side Effects:

May cause allergic reaction in people with a nut allergy

 

Contra Indications:

Nut allergies

 

Methods of Use:

25ml – 50ml as a base oil for massage

 

Apricot Oil

 

Apricot oil is a pale yellow oil and reasonable light, it comes with very little odour and makes a wonderful massage oil.

 

May Help With:

Irritated or Sensitive Skin

None known when used appropriately

 

Methods of Use:

Hazelnut Oil

 

Hazelnut oil is a yellow oil with a nutty aroma, it is rich in antioxidants that act as an astringent, cleansing the skin from bacteria whilst moisturising the skin.

 

May Help With:

Acne, Blackheads, 

 

Possible Side Effects:

Allergic reaction in people with nut allergies

 

Contra Indications:

Nut allergy

 

Methods of Use:

25ml – 50ml as a base oil for massage

 

Sunflower Oil

 

Sunflower oil is a pale yellow oil that comes from the sunflower seeds, it has little to no odour and is relatively light.

 

May Help With:

Dry, Dehydrated Skin and Irritated Skin

 

Possible Side Effects:

Contra Indications:

None known when used appropriately

 

Methods of Use:

25ml – 50ml as a base oil for massage

 

Avocado Oil

 

Avocado oil comes from the fruit, it is rich and moisturising oil with little odour. This oil is often mixed with another base oil because of its richness. 

 

May Help With:

Dry Skin, Flaky Skin, Aged Skin

Methods of Use:

Jojoba Oil

 

Jojoba oil is a good oil to use on oily skin as it helps to regulate sebum production and assists to clear pores.

Acne, Blemishes, Dehydrated or Oily Skin

Grapeseed Oil

 

Grapeseed oil has a light texture and is easily absorbed into the skin making idea for massage.

 

May Help With:

Dry or Itchy Skin, Dehydrated Skin
